Made with glutinous rice flour, chopped chives, and herbs, Nom Ka Chai, also known as chives cake, is a Chinese-inspired dessert. The patties are then fried in large quantities on pans to create this mid-meal snack. It's extremely exciting to bite into the dish because of the wonderful contrast between the crispy surface and the soft, sticky middle. For a tantalizing taste, the fish sauce, which is both sweet and spicy, is offered as a dipping sauce.
One type of street cuisine popular in Phnom Penh, the country's capital, is Nom Ka Chai. It was introduced by the Chinese merchants who made Cambodia their home.
